Dr. David Altchek performs knee surgery on Milwaukee Bucks’ Kendall Marshall

David Altchek, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, performed knee surgery on Milwaukee Bucks point guard Kendall Marshall, according to a Fox Sports report.

Mr. Marshall tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, which needed repair. Michael Gordon, MD, team orthopedic physician for the Bucks, assisted Dr. Altchek. There currently isn’t a timeline for Mr. Marshall’s return to play.

 

Dr. Altchek has performed several orthopedic surgeries for professional athletes, including one for basketball star Jabari Parker. He is the medical director for the New York Mets and medical consultant for the National Basketball Association.
