How has the PPACA affected physician practices?

When asked how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has affected their practices, physicians reported varying degrees of impact, according to Physicians Practice’s 2014 Physician Compensation Survey:

•    No effect to date — 47.3 percent
•    We see more patients than ever — 13.2 percent
•    We have a harder time getting paid on time by patients — 11.4 percent
•    We have a bigger load of Medicaid patients — 11 percent
•    We have had one or more plans dropped by a carrier — 8.7 percent

 

The survey includes responses from 1,338 physicians.
