Fangyi Zhang, MD – spine surgeons to know | 2014

 
Fangyi Zhang, MD (UW Medicine, Seattle). Dr. Zhang is a neurological spine surgeon at UW Medicine. He treats spinal trauma, degenerative disc disease, spinal instability, failed back surgery syndrome and spinal deformity. His research focuses on spinal cord blood flow regulation and acute spinal cord injury.

Dr. Zhang has been a faculty member in neurosurgery at the University of Texas in Houston. He previously was a trained neurosurgeon at the Beijing Tiantan Hospital in China. He has published around 40 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

 

Dr. Zhang earned his medical degree at the Capital University of Medical Science and completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center. His additional training includes a fellowship in orthopedic surgery at UW.
