James Bennett, MD – Spine surgeons to know | 2014

 
James Bennett, MD (Tulane Medical Center, New Orleans). Dr. Bennett is a professor of orthopedics and chief of pediatric orthopedics, with a special interest in spine care, at Tulane University School of Medicine and Tulane Medical Center. He is a fellowship-trained physician and was the first in Louisiana to introduce minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery in the treatment of scoliosis.

Dr. Bennett is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgeons and his clinical interests include anterior instrumented fusion, fluoro-and computer-enhanced surgical navigation in spine surgery, minimally invasive thoracoscopic fusion, pediatric orthopedics and pediatric spinal deformities. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, such as The American Journal of Orthopedics and Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics.

 

Dr. Bennett earned his medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and has completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Scottish Rite Hospital in Atlanta.
