Michael G. Neuwirth, MD (Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York City). Dr. Neuwirth is a professor of orthopedics at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He previously served as chief of spine surgery at The Hosptial for Joint Diseases and director of the New York Spine Institute and fellowship program at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.

 

Dr. Neuwirth devotes around 30 percent of his practice to revision surgery and is interested in less invasive techniques for surgical intervention. He authored The Scoliosis Handbook and lectures internationally. Dr. Neuwirth is a member of the North American Spine Society and Scoliosis Research Society, where he previously served on the board.

 

Dr. Neuwirth earned his medical degree at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Hospital for Joint Diseases. His additional training includes a fellowship in spine surgery at Rush Medical Center in Chicago.
