Samuel E. Smith, MD (Denver Health). Dr. Smith is a spine surgeon with Denver Health. He previously practiced with Front Range Orthopedics, but decided to join Denver Health in 2013 for the opportunity to teach residents as well as continue his spine-focused practice. He also serves as a faculty member at the University of Colorado.
He previously served as chairman of orthopedic surgery and chief of staff at Longmont (Colo.) Hospital. Dr. Smith served as treasurer and president fo the Colorado Orthopaedic Society. His clinical interest includes scoliosis disorders and he performs artificial disc replacement and lateral procedures.
Dr. Smith earned his medical degree at the University of Nebraska, where he also completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. His additional training includes a fellowship in spinal disorders at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and Elmwood Hospital in New Orleans.
