Joan O’Shea, MD (The Spine Institute of Southern New Jersey, Marlton).
Dr. O’Shea designed and created the first outpatient spine surgery center in Southern New Jersey. She was also elected chief of spine by her peers at Virtual Health System. She lectures across the United States at professional meetings.
Dr. O’Shea is a member of several professional societies including the American Neurological Association of Spine Surgeons and Women in Neurosurgery. She is dedicated to humanitarian work and after Hurricane Sandy, she organized an effort to help those impacted by the disaster. She owns and directs the Spine Institute of Southern New Jersey and is a partner at Surgical Center of South Jersey.
She earned her medical degree at SUNY Upstate Health Center in Syracuse and completed her neurological surgery residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Her additional training includes a spine surgery fellowship at the Hospital for Joint Disease and The Spine Institute of New York at Beth Israel Medical Center.
