Raj RaoRaj Rao, MD (Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee).

Dr. Rao is the director of spine surgery at Medical College of Wisconsin. He has served on the North American Spine Society board of directors and spent time advocating on behalf of the medical community in Washington, D.C.

 

He was also appointed to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Advisory

Panel on Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Devices. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Milwaukee Orthopaedic Society, in addition to NASS. He is associate editor of The Spine Journal and serves on the editorial boards of other national and international scientific journals.

 

He has research interests in spinal biomechanics, the biology and mechanics of spinal fusion and gait analysis in people with spinal disorders.

 

Dr. Rao earned his medical degree at the University of Bombay in India and completed his residency at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles. His additional training includes a fellowship in spine surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.
