Lawrence Lenke, MD (Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis). Dr. Lenke is the chair of spine surgery, co-chief of the adult and pediatric spinal deformity service and director of the advanced deformity fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine. He also serves as the Jerome J. Gilden Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and a professor of neurological surgery.
Dr. Lenke is a leader in deformity correction and spine surgery. He contributed more than 100 chapters to medical textbooks and authored more than 300 articles. He also served as chair for more than 80 professional spinal surgery meetings worldwide, including the International Meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques. He’s a past president of the Scoliosis Research Society and active in several other organizations.
His research has also garnered several awards, including the Leon Wiltse Award for Excellence in Leadership and/or Clinical Research in Spine Care from the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Lenke earned his medical degree at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago and completed his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine. His additional training includes an orthopedic surgery, pediatric and adult spine surgery fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine.
