Arthrosurface: Physical Therapist Receives Knee HemiCAP

Rita, a 61-year-old physical therapist suffering from arthritis in her knee, is the latest patient to have received an Arthrosurface Knee HemiCAP, according to an Arthrosurface blog post.

Rita opted for HemiCAP surgery rather than a total knee replacement procedure. Eight weeks after her surgery, Rita was back at work full time, and 12 weeks after the procedure, she could swim and work out at the gym.

In February, Arthrosurface’s HemiCAP technology has reached its 10-year milestone. The HemiCAP implants allow surgeons to restore only the damaged area of the joint while leaving the structures that help the patient move and function intact, thereby providing an alternative to total joint replacements.
