Dr. Matthew Steensma Wins Johns Hopkins University Neurofibromatosis Research Award

Matthew Steensma, MD, is one of two physicians to have been named winners of the inaugural the Francis S. Collins Scholars Program in Neurofibromatosis Clinical and Translational Research, sponsored by the Neurofibromatosis Therapeutic Acceleration Program at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Dr. Steensma is an orthopedic oncology surgeon practicing at Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health. The program will create a community of expert clinician-scientists and groom them to be leaders in neurofibromatosis type 1 research and clinical care.
