Kaiser Permanenete’s registry includes information to help healthcare providers identify best practices, evaluate risk factors with revision surgeries and assess the clinical effectiveness of implants. The information can also be used to study patient demographics, implant characteristics and surgical techniques.

Kaiser Permanente also uses the registry to identify and notify patients about recalled or defective implants.

Kaiser Permanente Health Connect, an electronic health record, includes reports from 100,000 joint replacement cases performed by more than 350 Kaiser Permanente surgeons. Caregivers can use the registry to analyze specific data from standardized forms.
