Saint Louis University Hospital Orthopedists Use Leg Limb Lengthening Device

Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis announced that its orthopedic surgeons are using a new leg limb lengthening device called the PRECICE device for limb lengthening procedures of the femur and tibia bones.

The device uses a remote control and magnets to extend the leg. It is implanted internally and is a non-invasive method of leg limb lengthening. The technology was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2011.
