According Dr. Girgis, social media offers physicians the support system they need to navigate the challenging healthcare environment and mitigate burnout. There are social media platforms geared specifically towards physicians — such as Sermo — that give physicians the chance to consult with one another and collaborate. This collaboration allows physicians to create a network that they can glean support and advice from when they feel overwhelmed, writes Dr. Girgis.
