Have EHRs Resulted in Savings for Physician Practices? 3 Statistics

A majority of physicians say that their electronic health record systems have resulted in significant financial losses for their practice, according to a national survey commissioned by Medical Economics and administered by MPI Group.

The survey includes responses from nearly 1,000 physicians.

 

When asked if their EHRs have resulted in savings or losses for their practice, respondents reported the following:

 

•    Savings — 16 percent
•    Neither savings nor losses — 18 percent
•    Losses — 65 percent
