Dr. Thompson is currently the co-editor of the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics and president and CEO of the SICOT Foundation. He is past president of the Ohio Orthopaedic Society, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and Scoliosis Research Society.
During his career, Dr. Thompson received several awards, for his work and published more than 150 peer-reviewed articles. He earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and completed his fellowship in orthopedic surgery at Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.
Ian A.F. Stokes, PhD, also received the award for his work in spinal biomechanics.
