Obama Administration Pushes Back 2015 PPACA Enrollment Deadline

HHS plans to delay the start of enrollment for the second year of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act marketplaces by one month, according to a Politico report.

A department official told Politico the enrollment period would begin on Nov. 15, 2014 and end on Jan. 15, 2015, in order to give health insurers more time to assess their 2014 experiences and set rates accordingly. The enrollment period was originally scheduled to run from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, according to the report.
