22% of Uninsured Have Visited Healthcare.gov, Pew Reports

Following the Oct. 1 launch of the health insurance exchanges, 22 percent of uninsured Americans have visited the online marketplaces, and 42 percent intend to do so, according to a Pew Research survey.

Overall, 14 percent of respondents have visited an exchange website. Of those, 70 percent already have health insurance, mostly through an employer or through a government-sponsored program, and 58 percent reported visiting the exchanges to learn about them, rather than to seriously consider purchasing insurance.
