Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Sheeraz Qureshi of Mount Sinai Hospital

Sheeraz A. Qureshi, MD, is an assistant professor of spinal surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

He also serves as chief of spinal trauma at Elmhurst Hospital Center in New York. He has written several chapters for spine textbooks, along with publications for various professional journals. After completing his spine surgery fellowship, Dr. Qureshi was selected as the Cervical Spine Research Society’s Traveling Fellow where he visited leading centers of spinal surgery both nationally and internationally.

 

Dr. Qureshi is board certified and his clinical interests include the treatment of degenerative spinal conditions, spinal tumors, spinal trauma, revision spinal surgery as well as motion sparing spinal procedures, including disc replacement surgery.

 

“You might do well clinically, but you have to communicate those things locally and nationally so people know about it,” said Dr. Qureshi in a Becker’s Spine Review article. “Most spine departments and practices aren’t just trying to look out for their own interests, but growing with their partners and others they are working with.”

 

Dr. Qureshi earned his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He has also completed a spinal surgery fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland.
