Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Eeric Truumees of Seton Spine and Scoliosis Center

Eeric Truumees, MD, is a spine surgeon with Seton Spine and Scoliosis Center in Austin, Texas. He is the director of the administrative and development council at the North American Spine Society. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Association and Cervical Spine Research Society. He serves as medical editor of SpineLine, and he sits on the editorial review boards of a number of journals, including The Spine Journal, Spine and the Journal of Biomechanics.

Dr. Truumees is board certified and focuses on cervical, lumbar and thoracic spine disorders. His clinical interests include back injuries, cervical herniated discs, degenerative spine, discectomy, laminectomy and lumbar degenerative disc disease.

I work with outstanding, motivated and intelligent people. Dr. Truumees earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Cleveland Clinic. He has also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak (Mich.).
