Researchers polled 3,480 U.S. physicians from across 25 specialty areas for the survey.
When asked about patient reactions to their lawsuits, respondents reported the following:
• They didn’t know or didn’t mention anything about it — 91 percent
• They were supportive overall — 9 percent
• Some patients left the practice — 1 percent
