CMS Releases Final ICD-9 Update

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have released the final ICD-9-CM updates that will take effect on Oct. 1, 2013, according to an EHR Intelligence report.

The updates cover several areas and are downloadable for free on the CMS website. Beginning Oct. 1, 2014, CMS will transition to ICD-10 codes.
