Researchers polled 3,480 U.S. physicians from across 25 specialty areas for the survey.
When asked how long they spent preparing their defense, respondents reported the following:
• One to five hours — 11 percent
• Six to 10 hours — 15 percent
• 11 to 20 hours — 15 percent
• 21 to 30 hours — 11 percent
• 31 to 40 hours — 8 percent
• More than 40 hours — 28 percent
