The report includes responses from 613 physicians, of which 146 were primary care physicians, 142 were surgical specialists, 197 were non-surgical specialists and 128 were classified as “other.”
When asked whether they believed that physicians and hospitals will become more integrated in the next one to three years, physicians from different medical specialties reported the following:
• Surgical specialists — 73 percent of this group believed it was very likely or likely.
• Primary care physicians — 71 percent of this group believed it was very likely or likely.
• Other — 63 percent of this group believed it was very likely or likely.
• Non-surgical specialists — 61 percent of this group believed it was very likely or likely.
