Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. Darrel Brodke of University of Utah School of Medicine

Darrel S. Brodke, MD, is the vice chairman of the department of orthopedics at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. He holds the Louis and Janet Peery Presidential Endowed Chair and also serves as the director of the spine service as well as the fellowship in spinal disorders in the department of orthopedics. He is an adjunct assistant professor of neurosurgery at the University as well.

Dr. Brodke is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association, Cervical Spine Research Society, North American Spine Society and Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Spinal Disorders and serves on the executive board of the Cervical Spine Research Society.

Dr. Brodke is a board certified spine specialist and his clinical interests include disc herniations, spinal stenosis, degenerative conditions, deformities and trauma of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.

Dr. Brodke earned his medical degree at the University of California San Francisco. He completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and has also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle.
