The legislation would give the Indiana attorney general new authority to review medical records at pain management clinics across the state without having to wait for law enforcement to issue a search warrant. It also requires pain clinic owners to maintain a controlled substance registry, and requires that pain management clinics in Indiana be owned and operated by a person who holds valid registration to prescribe controlled substances.
The legislation has now gone to the governor for approval, according to the report.
