The Advisory Board’s Help Wanted OnLine survey showed job offerings in the sector were down by 30,300 for the month before, to 537,000 offerings, mainly reflecting falling demand for occupational and physical therapists and general internists.
However, the total number of jobs for healthcare practitioners and technical occupations has been outpacing applicants by more than three to one, according to January unemployment figures.
For the less skilled category of healthcare support occupations, on the other hand, there were more than two applicants for each job in January.
