New York Neurosurgery Department Announces Revenue Manger Job Opening

A New York-based department of neurological surgery is seeking a revenue manager who is directly responsible for managing the overall revenue cycle for the department.

This individual will work to identify and capitalize revenue opportunities and address revenue-losing processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•    Fiscal / revenue cycle responsibilities;
•    Assists with the performance and development of staff and supervises the coding team;
•    Collaboratively working with the managed care contracting department performing audits and reviews, proposing and/or negotiating payor contract revisions and communicating the financial impact to the chair, administrator, practice manager and faculty;
•    Analyzes and improves the performance of front-end billing operations through development and monitoring of performance criteria;
•    Anticipating, understanding and meeting the needs of the patients with empathy and concern;
•    Monitoring budgetary variances and progress in budget revenue performance and communicating to departmental leadership, faculty, POBO, Budget, etc.;
•    Reviewing financial performance through P&L statements, A/R analysis and other reports;  
•    Assisting in the development of annual revenue projections for the department;
•    Program Development / Departmental Initiatives.

Qualifications:
•    Automated practice management system experience (IDX and EpicCare systems);
•    Working knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding reimbursements required;
•    Knowledge of finance, business management or related field as acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree;
•    At least five years substantial billing and collection experience in a large academic medical center required;
•    Comprehensive knowledge of third party insurance billing policies and procedures and previous billing experience and CPT and ICD-9, ICD-10 coding;
•    Certified Procedural Coder.

MBA or MPA strongly preferred
