Expanding Orthopedics has been granted its 13th U.S. patent, adding to its extensive intellectual property portfolio of expandable bone devices.

"My vision, since I founded the company, was to develop a unique family of expandable devices covering spine and trauma applications, creating a new standard of care. This 13th granted U.S. patent covers innovative technologies in the area of expandable interbody cages and VCF solutions," said Mark Levy, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and founder of Expanding Orthopedics.

In July, the company received FDA clearance for its FLXfit device, a 3D expandable interbody cage.
