Misonix provides ultrasonic BoneScalpel to support Uganda Spine Surgery Mission

Misonix is supporting the Uganda Spine Surgery Mission by providing an ultrasonic BoneScalpel for use in advanced spinal surgeries.

The Uganda Spine Surgery Mission is organized by Isador Lieberman, MD, of Plano-based Texas Back Institute. It aims at providing advanced spine care to Ugandan patients. This is the third consecutive year that Misonix has supported the mission through use of its BoneScalpel device.

For the first time this year, the mission team includes three teams for spine surgery. A number of spine surgeons who are a part of the team are long-time BoneScalpel users, including Dr. Lieberman.

"The addition of the BoneScalpel was again of tremendous help. Having this technology on hand in Uganda allowed us to safely perform many very complex spinal surgeries. I now regard the BoneScalpel as a necessity on all my cases here and abroad. I am very grateful for the generous ongoing support from Misonix for this mission," says Dr. Lieberman.
