Dr. David Hay Performs Hand Surgery on Ducks' Jason Blake

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

David Hay, MD, a sports medicine physician at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, recently performed hand surgery on Anaheim Ducks left winger Jason Blake, according to a Ducks news release. Mr. Blake suffered a deep laceration above his left wrist after another player stepped on him, cutting through Mr. Blake's skin. Diagnostic testing found tendon damage and Dr. Hay performed the corrective surgery today. Mr. Blake is now in the recovery period and is expected to return to play in approximately three months.
