Toronto Blue Jays infielder Devon Travis undergoes knee procedure — 3 facts

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis underwent a procedure on his right knee to remove frayed cartilage, SportsNet reports.

Here's what you should know.



1. The team placed Mr. Travis on the disabled list on June 6.

 

2. Mr. Travis underwent a procedure in the off-season to remove cartilage in his right knee. Late in the 2016 season, Mr. Travis suffered a bone bruise on the same knee.

 

3. According to Spotrac, there have been 13 knee injuries in the 2017 season. There were 38 in the 2016 season and 35 in the 2015 season. This season, players have spent 286 days on the disabled list because of knee injuries.
