Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center orthopedic surgeon Jed Kuhn, MD, operated on the left thigh of Nashville Predators' forward Ryan Johansen on May 25.
Here's what you should know.
1. Mr. Johansen had acute compartment syndrome in his left thigh.
2. He began developing symptoms rapidly after the end of the conference finals fourth game. Because of the rapid response, the team expects he will make a full and complete recovery.
3. Dr. Kuhn is Vanderbilt's director of sports medicine and shoulder surgery.
4. He is the Predators' team physician.
