Dr. David Altchek operates on Cleveland Cavaliers' Kevin Love's knee — 3 details

David Altchek, MD, performed arthroscopic surgery on Cleveland Cavaliers player Kevin Love's knee after he sustained an injury during a game on Saturday, according to The LA Times.

Here are three things to know:

 

1. Dr. Altchek removed a loose body from Mr. Love's left knee in New York on Tuesday, Feb 14.  

 

2. Mr. Love is expected to be sidelined for roughly six weeks.

 

3. Dr. Altchek also performed surgery on Mr. Love's dislocated left shoulder in 2015. That injury was diagnosed as an acute anterior inferior glenohumeral dislocation with the corresponding ligament/labrum tearing and humeral head bone bruising, according to ESPN.
