Here are six orthopedic surgeons treating professional athletes in September.

Robert Watkins, MD, performed a spinal disc surgery on Houston Texans' star defensive lineman J.J. Watt.

 

Milwaukee Bucks' guard Khris Middleton had his ruptured left hamstring repaired by the Hospital for Special Surgery's David Altchek, MD. He also repositioned the ulnar nerve in New York Mets right handed pitcher Jacob DeGrom's right elbow.

 

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had a torn meniscus in his knee surgically repaired by Chris Larson, MD, of Twin City Orthopedics.

 

Anthony Romeo, MD, of Chicago-based Gold Coast Surgery Center, successfully repaired two torn tendons in Oakland Athletics pitcher Fernando Rodriguez.

 

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater had multiple ligaments in his knee surgically repaired by Dan Cooper, MD.

 

Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Henderson Alvarez is heading to see James Andrews, MD, to have his shoulder evaluated.
