Orthopedic Sports Medicine

The world of athletic-based training is about to get much larger as D1 Sports Training and Therapy announced its intentions to open 10 new facilities nationwide.

Here are five thoughts:

1. D1, an athletic-based training brand founded by athletes for athletes, has opened four new facilities to date in College Station, Texas, Louisville, Ky., Clearwater, Fla., and Sioux Falls, S.D. It plans to continue expanding to Omaha, Neb., Tomball, Texas, Tulsa, Okla., Mesa, Ariz and Salt Lake City, Utah.

2. The facility is co-owned by several current and former players including Von Miller, Luke Joeckel, Randy Bullock, Deion Branch and several other athletes. Each facility partners with medical partners that are local to the market to integrate sports medicine and therapy with sports training.

3. D1 facilities range from 3,000 to 20,000 square feet and feature indoor turf fields, weight areas and several full-service clinics for professional and general fitness training.

4. D1 has developed training programs for athletes of all ages and offers a variety of training options.

5. By the end of 2016, D1 will have 40 facilities nationwide.
