Houston Methodist St. John Hospital teams up with Pasadena Independent School District Athletics

Houston Methodist St. John Hospital will provide Pasadena (Texas) Independent School District's athletes and coaches sports medicine services and financial awards for students, according to The Pasadena Citizen.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Houston Methodist St. John will offer services to Pasadena ISD's 9,800 student athletes and 400 coaches and athletic trainers.

 

2. Each year, the hospital will provide two $2,500 sports medicine scholarships to student athletes.

 

3. On the football field, Houston Methodist St. John orthopedic surgeons will provide care for injured athletes and will conduct weekly injury clinics.

 

4. In June, the Pasadena ISD board of trustees approved the partnership.

 

5. The partnership goes through 2019.
