USTA Lake Nona names Nemours, Andrews Institute medical providers — 6 things to know

Nemours Children's Health System in Orlando and the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla., will be the official medical providers of the United States Tennis Association's Lake Nona campus, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Here are six things to know:

 

1. Nemours and the Andrews Institute will provide the USTA with a team physician, sports nutritionists and athletic trainers year-round.

 

2. The team will create the 16-court Nemours/Andrews Family Tennis Zone.

 

3. Although they've worked together before in North Florida, this is the first official partnership between Nemours and the Andrews Institute.

 

4. The medical team will address acute injuries and rehabilitation, while also focusing on injury prevention and athletic performance enhancement.

 

5. The Andrews Institute has more than 40 physicians who specialize in orthopedics, sports medicine, joint care and neurosurgery.

 

6. Nemours has one of the largest pediatric orthopedic practices in the United States.
