Here are 25 orthopedic surgeons in the news this past week.

Former San Diego Chargers physician David J. Chao, MD, who treated NFL Hall of Famer Junior Seau from 1997 until the linebacker's suicide in 2012, is facing permanent revocation of his medical license.

 

Keith Mesiter, MD, treated Texas Rangers third baseman Joey Gallo after he strained his left groin muscle.

 

Kathleen M. Weber, MD, sports medicine physician at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago and director of primary care/sports medicine and women's sports medicine at Rush University Medical Center, also in Chicago, has been elected president of the Major League Baseball Team Physicians Association.
