Here are 11 orthopedic surgeons who received honors or promotions within the last month.

Laura Forese, MD, was recently named chairperson of the newly-formed National Institutes of Health Clinical Center Hospital Board.

 

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons added Brian J. Galinat, MD, to its board.

 

W. Joseph Laughlin Jr., MD, received the 2016 Clark Gunderson, M.D., Award from the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association.

 

Sean McMillan, DO, was the recipient of the 2016 Healing Spirit Award presented by the Camden, N.J.-based Lourdes Health Foundation.

 

Memphis-based University of Tennessee Health Science Center named James Beaty, MD, chair of the UT-Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Biomedical Engineering.

 

Healing the Children of New Jersey will honor Lloyd Gayle, MD, with the Sue Tiger Memorial Award.

 

LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans named Robert D. Zura, MD, head of the department of orthopedics.

 

Todd Battaglia, MD, was named to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' work group on The Management of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injuries.
