OU Medicine physicians face off against Oklahoma Adaptive Sports Association's wheelchair basketball team — 5 notes

Oklahoma City-based OU Medical Center physicians are partaking in the Oklahoma Blaze and will play against the Oklahoma Adaptive Sports Association's wheelchair basketball team, according to News OK.

Here are five notes:

 

1. The basketball game is part of the eighth annual OU Physicians Games.

 

2. As part of the events, Oklahoma City Thunder mascot Rumble and the Thunder Drummers will be attending.

 

3. The event will take place on April 28, and will include a silent auction.

 

4. Dominic Frimberger, MD, led the efforts to recruit team members from OU's orthopedics, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, operating room nurses, anesthesia and administration to sign up for the tournament. Dr. Frimberger is the director of pediatric urology at the Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center.

 

5. More than 40 physicians and nurses will partake in the exhibition games.
