Premier Health Specialists acquired Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Consultants, according to the Cincinnati Business Journal.

Here are six things to know:

 

1. Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Consultants is based in Middletown, Ohio, and includes the team physician for Lakota West High School.

 

2. Scott Albright, MD, is the team physician for the Lakota West Firebirds in West Chester, as well as the team physician for Middletown Christian High School.

 

3. The new employees of Premier Health Specialists are:

 

  • Jerry Magone, MD, team physician for Edgewood High School in Trenton
  • Jon Sulentic, MD, team physician for Monroe High School
  • Anthony Checroun, MD

 

There are 26 other members of staff of what's now called Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Consultants and Associates.

 

4. Dr. Magone served as president of Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Consultants and as medical director of the Southwest Ohio Ambulatory Surgery Center.

 

5. Tom Kiefhaber, MD, will maintain office hours with Orthopedic Sports Medicine Consultants and Associates but not become a Premier Health Employee.

 

6. W.D. Langworthy, MD, a co-founder of Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Consultants, has retired.
