Dr. Tarek O. Souryal Performed Surgery on Dallas Mavericks Player

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Tarek O. Souryal, MD, of Texas Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Group, recently performed knee surgery on Dallas Mavericks forward Caron Butler, according to a Toronto Sun news report.

The surgery repaired a ruptured right patellar tendon that was injured during last Saturday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He went up for a rebound and grabbed the knee on his way down, which caused him to land awkwardly on his left ankle.

Mr. Butler may not return to play this season.
