Denver orthopedic surgeon, Wayne Gersoff, MD, performed Ivy Sports Medicine's first Collagen Meniscus Implant in the United States.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. The CMI is made of highly purified collagen that reinforces and repairs a meniscus defect following partial meniscectomy or for irreparable meniscus tears.

 

2. During this year's Arthroscopy Association of North America Fall Course, Ivy Sports Medicine will introduce the CMI to the U.S. market.  AANA's Fall Course will occur from Nov. 12 to Nov. 14 at The Gaylord Texan in Dallas.

 

3. Providers have used the CMI in more than 6,000 cases around the world, and the device has been featured in 42 peer-reviewed publications.

 

4. Experts predict the device will make a substantial impact in the meniscus repair segment within the overall sports medicine market.
