Here are nine orthopedic surgeons treating professional athletes this past month.

James Andrews, MD, of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla., performed elbow surgery on Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Branden Kline.

 

Dr. Andrews also performed knee surgery on Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles.

 

David Porter, MD, of Methodist Sports Medicine in Indianapolis, performed ankle surgery on Washington Wizards forward Alan Anderson.

 

Michael K. Shindle, MD, of Summit Medical Group in Florham Park, N.J., was appointed the New Jersey Devils' team orthopedist.

 

Michael Terry, MD, of Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, performed knee surgery on Chicago Blackhawks' defenseman Duncan Keith.

 

David Altchek, MD, of Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, performed elbow surgery on New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka.

 

Matt Matava, MD, and Jeremy J. McCormick, MD, of Washington University Orthopedics in St. Louis performed ankle surgery on St. Louis Blues center Jaden Schwartz.

 

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush was designated the official orthopedic provider for Chicago Men's and Women's Platform Tennis Leagues.

 

Neal ElAttrache, MD, of Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, performed shoulder surgery on Los Angeles Dodgers utility player Enrique Hernandez.
