Ophthalmologist Nicholas Volpe, MD, weighs in on Derrick Rose's left eye injury, according to Bright House Sports Network.

1. After suffering an elbow to the face, Chicago Bulls player Derrick Rose had surgery to repair his left eye socket.

 

2. While Coach Hoiberg could not provide a timetable for when Mr. Rose would return to the court, Dr. Volpe predicts Mr. Rose will be back within two to three weeks.

 

3. Dr. Volpe is the chairman of ophthalmology at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago.

 

4. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of optic nerve disorders in addition to the evaluation and surgical treatment of double vision and eye misalignment.

 

5. Dr. Volpe earned his medical degree from Brooklyn College of Medicine in New York.
