Dr. Neal ElAttrache to examine Kansas City Royals reliever Greg Holland: 5 things to know

Neal ElAttrache, MD, is slated to examine Kansas City Royals reliever Greg Holland's elbow, according to an ESPN report.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Mr. Holland has a ligament tear in his right elbow that will end his season and may require surgery.

 

2. Dr. ElAttrache will determine the severity of Mr. Holland's elbow injury.

 

3. Dr. ElAttrache practices at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. He is chairman of the board of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Foundation and program director for the Kerlan-Jobe Fellowship.

 

4. He is one of the most prominent sports medicine surgeons in the country and is the team physician for the LA Dodgers.

 

5. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
