Colorado State University in Fort Collins has received a $10 million gift to build a new equine hospital, which will expand the university's Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Program in an effort with CSU's Orthopaedic Research Center, according to Denver Business Journal.

Here are three things to know, according to the report:

1. The money was received from the Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation.

2. The project is expected to cost a total of $47 million and cover 180,000 square-feet.

3. The new hospital will feature three notable categories of specialized veterinary care for horses, catering to the needs of patients and owners in the Intermountain West, said Christopher Kawcak, MD, professor of orthopedics and director of Equine Clinical Services.
