Here are seven orthopedic surgeons making headlines this past week.

Michael Carter, MD, is retiring after more than 20 years of practice. He most recently practiced with Carter Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Wilmington, N.C.

 

Richard Reynolds, MD, joined Nemours Children's Clinic as the new chairman of surgery and division chief for pediatric orthopedics.

 

Carlos J. Lavernia, MD, spoke with Latin Post about his research showing the numbers of Latinos who receive orthopedic surgery and the number who go into orthopedic surgery residencies.

 

Gundersen Decorah (Iowa) Clinic added Russell Norris, MD, to its physician team.

 

Bill Johnson, MD, of Internal Medicine Specialist of Innovations Medical in Dallas, is currently treating patients with knee injuries with stem cell procedures.

 

Hand and upper extremity surgeon Aaron Dykstra, MD, has joined Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center in Rapid City, S.D.
