Dr. James Andrews performs knee surgery on Jaguars' Dante Fowler — 5 things to know

James Andrews, MD, performed knee surgery on Jacksonville Jaguars player Dante Fowler, according to a Fox Sports report.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Mr. Fowler was injured on his first day of the Jaguars rookie mini-camp earlier in May when his knee buckled during a drill.

 

2. He wasn't signed to a contract when the injury occurred, but now has a $23 million deal with the team as their top draft pick this year.

 

3. Dr. Andrews performed a successful ACL repair.

 

4. Mr. Fowler is expected to miss the entire 2015 season recovering from the injury and surgery.

 

5. Next week, Mr. Fowler is expected to begin his rehabilitation.
